The UHRA is fully accredited with Harness Racing NSW. It officially represents Trainers and Drivers on industry issues and meets and consults regularly with both HRNSW and the GHRRA in response to participant concerns and to help develop future policies.
The Association has representation on Handicapping, Stewarts’ Consultation and Animal Welfare Committees.
Current issues which the Association is involved with include Sulky Insurance, a Superannuation Scheme for trainers and drivers, TAFE Training, faster Payment of Prizemoney, Trainer and Driver remuneration, Handicapping, prizemoney distribution, etc.
The UHRA has secured major Sponsorship from R.J.Walsh and Son, Allied Express and International Animal Health Products.
The UHRA is open to all participants and has a broad range of members located in all regions of NSW as well as representatives State wide.
